Take Action
Forgiveness starts in the heart, but then we’re called to remember those in prison with our actions. Prison Fellowship offers several ways for you to not forget those in prison, either on your own, or as a group. Thank you for following in Jesus’ footsteps and remembering those our society so often ignores or scorns.
Learn what volunteer opportunities are available in your area. You can serve prisoners while they’re still inside prison or when they get back out into the community. There are also ways to reach out to their families and help them reconnect—despite the separation of prison.
Prisoners want to share their fears, concerns, and challenges with someone who cares. When you commit to the pray, Prison Fellowship will deliver an inmate’s prayer requests straight to your inbox once/twice a month. As you intercede on behalf of a prisoner, you will learn to “remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison” (Heb. 13:3). And you will have a front-row seat to witness the work of Christ unleashed in a prisoner’s life.
Sign up for our FREE monthly e-magazine, Inside Out. Read stories of the men and women we work with whose lives are being transformed. Stay connected and learn about other opportunities to forgive and not forget those in prison.
Become an advocate for criminal justice reform. Help change the laws and policies of our system that are unjust or broken. Help create a system that protects the human rights of inmates and truly helps reform and transform them to be productive citizens in our communities.
Learn about our paid professional internship positions available each summer at our National Office in Lansdowne, Virginia. Come spend the summer with us and play an integral part in reconciling prisoners to God, their family, and the community.
Get a T-shirt to spread the word, and your donation will provide a dress shirt and tie to a newly released prisoner so he can wear it to a job interview.
Bring the Forgive, Don’t Forget movement to your college, church, or youth group. Create awareness and discuss the issues related to remembering those in prison. Watch our documentary and discuss. Study what the Bible has to say about serving the least of these. Pray for those who are in prison and for their families. And learn many more ways for your group to continue remembering those in prison.
Rally your college, church, or youth group to make a huge difference in the lives of the children of prisoners in your community. Join with Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree program to help prisoners reconnect with their families by providing Christmas gifts for the children on behalf of their incarcerated parents. When you serve a child, you remember a prisoner, and you help connect a family.
