ConfidentKidsConfident KidsTM is a Bible-based support group program helping families with children ages 4 - 12 years old deal with the stresses of living in today's world. Through games, skits and small group discussions, children learn important life skills while experiencing a safe place to talk about their life experiences. In a concurrent group, parents learn to apply these same skills at home, while experiencing a safe place to share their stories, as well. In both groups, participants grow as they discover they are not alone in their pain. Life Hurts God Heals

Support groups for teenagers

 

LifeHurtsLife Hurts God Heals is a version of the Celebrate Recovery program for teenagers. Due to the unique circumstances facing teenagers with an incarcerated parent, many find themselves desperately hurting from challenges such as the pain of a broken home, struggles with depression and abusive relationships. Facing these challenges can many times lead to habits and addictions that are hard to break. Life Hurts God Heals is a support ministry with hands-on training materials to help your church love and support these young people. Training and support for churches that desire to mentor

AmachiAmachi is a unique partnership of secular and faith-based organizations working together to provide mentoring to children of incarcerated parents. Faith institutions work with human service providers and public agencies (particularly justice institutions) to identify children of prisoners and match them with caring adults.

“Amachi” is a Nigerian Ibo word that means “Who knows but what God has brought us through this child.”

Extended_FamilyExtended Family, a support system for families of prisoners, has produced an exciting new program designed specifically for children with an incarcerated family member.

Extended Family for Kids offers nine unique, solution-based sessions, designed to build self-esteem, ease feelings of shame and isolation, decrease stress, address anger issues, and strengthen communication skills. Goodwill Industries

Goodguides program provides mentoring for teens

GoodwillGoodwill® GoodGuides is a national mentoring program for youth between the ages of 12 and 17 who are at risk for making harmful choices such as dropping out of school or joining a gang. These youth may also be at risk for delinquency.

The goal of the GoodGuides program is to help youth build career plans and skills, and prepare for school completion, post-secondary training, and productive work. Funded by a two-year grant to Goodwill Industries International from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, the Goodwill GoodGuides program is run by 56 independent Goodwill agencies.
